Robin Rogalski with best time in the first training session

The DKR Engineering driver was unbeatable in the first free practice session of the Prototype Cup Germany at the TT Circuit Assen in the Netherlands. Variety with cars from all three brands in the top four.

The race weekend of the Prototype Cup Germany at the TT Circuit Assen is open: The race series organised by ADAC and Creventic is making its first ever guest appearance at the 4.555-kilometre circuit in the Netherlands and was able to inspire with spectacle right from the start in the first free practice session. The best time of 1:32.617 minutes was set by Robin Rogalski (23/POL), who shares a Duqueine D08 from DKR Engineering with Valentino Catalano (17/Westheim).

"Of course, it's only the first free practice session for now - but it's always nice to start the race weekend with a best time right away. In this respect I am very satisfied. I hope we can carry this momentum through to the end of the event," beamed Rogalski as he got out of his LMP3 sports car. "The car felt very good. The track at Assen is basically quite fast, so driving an LMP3 here is particularly fun."

"Our goal this weekend is of course to win races," added teammate Catalano. "Personally, I want to score my fourth pole position of the season. It's my first time at Assen. I really like the track and it suits my riding style. So we are optimistic."

With a gap of 0.304 seconds, second place in the session went to Duqueine brand colleagues Gustavo Kyrila (29/BRA) and Nico Göhler (20/Grasleben, both BWT Mücke Motorsport). Sebastian von Gartzen (30/Butzbach) and Maximilian Hackländer (33/Rüthen, both Konrad Motorsport) finished third. The Ginetta G61-LT-P3 duo were 0.344 seconds off the top.

Fourth place was secured by the Ligier JS P320 of Dino Steiner (54/Wehingen) and Nigel Moore (GBR, both Aust Motorsport), who were 0.352 seconds behind. This meant that cars from all three brands involved in the Prototype Cup Germany were in the top four positions. Rounding off the top five were Jacob Erlbacher (23/Böblingen) and Courtney Crone (22/USA, both Gebhardt Motorsport), who will be competing with a Duqueine for the first time at Assen.
