The qualifying for round two of the Prototype Cup Germany at the DEKRA Lausitzring was really exciting. On a drying track, the best times were set at the end of the 15-minute session. With a time of 1:22.418 minutes, Marvin Dienst (25/Lampertheim) in the Ligier JS P320 of Toksport WRT was in the lead at the end. "It wasn't easy conditions on the track. But we managed quite well," said a delighted Dienst, who shares the cockpit with Berkay Besler (23/TUR). "I didn't have a single green sector on my fastest lap. So it would definitely have been a bit faster. It was difficult to hit the right window today. But it was the same for everyone else."
Dienst will thus start Sunday's Prototype Cup Germany race from the first grid position for the third time in a row. Starting alongside him will be the Ginetta G61-LT-P3 of Maximilian Hackländer (32/Rüthen), who was 0.449 seconds behind in qualifying. "I would have liked to be a bit closer to first place. But of course we are satisfied with second place," said Hackländer, who will start together with Axcil Jefferies (28/ZWE). "It was not easy on the track. But it was a lot of fun in the mixed conditions. In the race we want to try to beat Toksport WRT."
Third place in qualifying went to the Duqueine D08 of Gary Hauser (30/LUX) and Sebastian von Gartzen (29/Butzbach, both Racing Experience), 1.033 seconds behind. This resulted in the same order as in Saturday's Prototype Cup Germany race at the DEKRA Lausitzring.
The Ginetta of Danny Soufi (19/USA, Konrad Motorsport) and the Duqueine of Oscar Tunjo (26/COL) and Mateo Villagomez (20/ECU, both Rinaldi Racing) completed the top five. Sunday's race will start at 16:30 and will be broadcast in a free livestream on youtube.com/adac, adac.de/motorsport and youtube.com/24hseries.
