Laurents Hörr sets the fastest time of the day in Assen

At the penultimate race weekend of the 2023 season in the Prototype Cup Germany at the TT Circuit Assen, Laurents Hörr in the Duqueine D08 of Koiranen Kemppi Motorsport set the fastest time in the second free practice session. Brand colleagues and championship leaders Hauser/Pommer in second place.

The first practice day of the Prototype Cup Germany at the TT Circuit Assen in the Netherlands is over and saw a best time by Koiranen Kemppi Motorsport driver Laurents Hörr (25/Gerlingen). Driving the Duqueine D08, the German lapped the 4.555-kilometre track in exactly 1:31.663 minutes in the second free practice session. "Of course it's always nice to be at the front," beamed Hörr, who shares the cockpit with Matthias Lüthen (42/Hamburg), after the session. "This definitely gives a good feeling for the rest of the weekend."

"My fastest lap was free of traffic and was therefore also really fun. I am already excited to see what is then possible in qualifying," Hörr continued. "Basically, I gave up a lot of track time to my teammate Matthias on Friday. I really like the circuit in Assen - especially the second and third sectors are great."

Second place in the second free practice session went to Duqueine brand colleagues Gary Hauser (31/LUX) and Markus Pommer (32/Untereisesheim, both Racing Experience), who were just 0.041 seconds behind. Hauser/Pommer are the current championship leaders in the Prototype Cup Germany organised by ADAC and Creventic. The duo could theoretically be crowned 2023 champions ahead of time in Assen.

With a gap of 0.499 seconds, Valentino Catalano (17/Westheim) and Robin Rogalski (23/POL, both DKR Engineering) took third position. Fourth place went to the current runners-up in the standings, Oscar Tunjo (27/COL) and Julien Apothéloz (22/CHE, both Van Ommen Racing by DataLab), who finished 0.503 seconds behind the leaders. Thus, four Duqueine D08s took the top four positions in the times table. Sebastian von Gartzen (30/Butzbach) and Maximilian Hackländer (33/Rüthen, both Konrad Motorsport) completed the top five in a Ginetta G61-LT-P3.

On Saturday and Sunday, there will be one qualifying session each in the Prototype Cup Germany at the TT Circuit Assen as well as a race lasting just under an hour. The action will be broadcast in a free livestream on the ADAC Motorsport channel youtube.com/adacmotorsports.
